American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
This in person, hands on class teaches you to recognize and respond to medical emergencies in adults, children and infants. You will learn CPR, how to use an AED, and first aid for breathing and cardiac emergencies. It is designed for people who need certification for work or other requirements, and for anyone who wants to be ready to help. When you successfully complete the course, you receive a digital American Red Cross certificate valid for 2 years.
Physical requirements
- Practice stations are on the floor, not at tables. You will kneel beside a manikin and stand up again several times during class.
- You will give compressions using both hands and locked arms, at the rate and depth the course requires, in repeated rounds of about two minutes.
- You will give compressions with two fingers on an infant manikin and give breaths through a barrier device.
- Certification is earned by showing the skills to your instructor, not by attendance alone. You must take part in all practice and skills checks.
Accommodations are available on request. Please contact us before you register if you have questions.
